A mid XX century Tibetan cast bronze partially gilded and polychromed statue of Jambhala Buddha with turquoise beads. 

It is in good condition, some wear on the surface polychrome due to worshipping and normal user wear. 
 

It comes from a private Belgian collection.

In reasonable condition: superficial dirt, a line and tiny bit of panel missing in the middle. 
It sits in a wood gilded frame. Interesting little work of art.

Early XIX century Naples Italy 

A large gouache definitely by the famous artist Camillo de Vito (1794-1845) depicting the eruption of the Vesuvius by daylight on the 22 of oktober 1822. 

Somewhere in the past the original black edges with the signature and the cardboard on which the gouache is pasted have been cut to fit a frame which is no longer here. 
A piece of the cuttings with the handwriting of De Vito was kept apart on the back of the cardboard describing the date of the eruption. Also included. 

The gouache is large and in good condition. One tiny bit of superficial damage to the gouache (hardly noticeable) but overall very fresh and incredibly detailed. A rare find.

A picture of the same eruption by night from De Vito is added with the photo's.

A rare set of four small antique appliques in gilded bronze 'Col de Cygne', swan's neck decor. 

They were electrified later on in their lifes, either they need to be rewired or brought back to their wall candlestick purpose. 

They are of very high quality, detailed casting and beautiful gilding, no wear or tear. 
The backs have been partially painted but the bronze comes through at places.

India early XX century 

Old silver pendant necklace, used as a lingam casket box. These pendants were designed as containers to hold a sacred lingam stone representing the god Shiva.

With gold appliqué and a ruby on top of the casket. 

Lingayats are a Hindu group who believe that Shiva is the only deity, rather than the 3 gods revered by other Hindus. They also believed that the sacred presence of Shiva was not simply confined to the temple, but that it could be held in these pendants for a personal connection to the god.

This is an authentic and loved piece, in very good condition, from the early 20th century.

German School 1740-1760

A wood carved and polychromed statue in lime wood with a partially flattened back depicting most probably not Maria Immaculate but the Lady in Blue, in her Franciscan grey habit and blue cloak, better known as the Venerable Mary of Agreda. Also known as Mary Jesus of Agreda. Praying on her cloud base with one hand raised to the skies. 

A known and loved mystic and nun who lived from 1602 to 1665 in Spain Agreda where her untouched body resides until this day. A highly pious nun and writer who was most known for her bilocation. A controversial women in her time but eventually believed and glorified by the Chuch for her extraordinary capacities and work in New Mexico. 

Two holes are visible in her cloak and a small hole in the back of the head. Wear to the polychrome and a tiny bit of damage to her pinky on the right hand.

A perfect post impressionistic style oil painting on artists board depicting a lovely girl with a hat.
Signed by the artist Robert Colot (Bxl 1927-1993) lower right. Titled and dated: Fillette au chapeau,1960. 

Nice example of his impressionistic style work of that period. Known for his female portraits. Rare to find today. 

The painting sits in a giltwood frame and on the back the stickers remain of the retrospective exhibition of 1998 in Brussels where it was shown.

Carved wooden temple element statue of the Hindu goddess Kali, associated with time, change, creation, power, destruction and death in Shaktism. 

In fair condition. 
It stands on a XX century bespoke wooden base. 
Losses and normal wear, as with many antique temple pieces from that area. 

Very beautiful and detailed carving. Some petrified wood remnants.

First series of pictures are made in a studio. The latter by daylight. The color is more black than brown.

A rare small (in comparison with his other Orientalist paintings) oil painting on canvas signed lower right corner and dated 1886. 
Classic Algerian intimate interior scene, very refined. 
In fair condition. There are three old but professional restorations and a little paint loss on the male figure.

It sits in a wood gilded frame (some touch ups).

Charles Guillaume Brun, né à Montpellier en 1825, mort à Paris en 1908, s’inscrit en 1847 à l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, où il étudie sous la direction de François-Edouard Picot (1786-1868) puis d’Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889). Sa participation au Salon débute en 1851 avec des sujets de genre (Jeune fille faisant sa prière du matin), mais dès 1853, il envoie régulièrement des scènes Orientalistes, situées en Algérie (La Prièreen 1859, Rendez-vous à Constantine en 1861, Femme Mauresque en 1867), d’une grande rigueur architecturale, animées de contrastes tranchants dans les effets d’éclairage et montrant dans les modulations de gris une fine sensibilité. Outre ses nombreux paysages d’Algérie, il se fait aussi connaître comme portraitiste militaire, peignant avec précision les uniformes, et devient naturellement peintre officiel au ministère de la Guerre, où il collabore avec Alexandre Cabanel. Il est également l’auteur de décorations d’églises, dont celle de Villemomble (Martyre de saint Laurent, 1857). Brun devient sociétaire des Artistes Français à partir de 1883.

Not signed (three III on the bottom and a sticker from the collector) but definitely a rare Choisy le-Roi 'ceramique fine' cream white and blue lined vase depicting panels with Noah and the Ark, Saint playing a harp and an array of flowers and leaves. 
In very good condition.
