Very elegant Louis XV style bedroom set in mahogany with very fine ormolu bronze mounts. The night stands as well the vanity/secretaire are topped with onyx marbles. The bedroom is probably a design by Maison Schmit, founded by the famous ébénist Frédéric Schmit. Frédéric Schmit was one of the greatest French cabinet-makers of the second half of of the 19th century, active in Paris at the Rue de Charonne starting in 1856. He received Gold Medals at the 1878 and 1889 Expositions Universelles in Paris. Wardrobe sizes H 265 x w 207 x d55 cm. Queensize Bed H 167 x w 160/175 x L 200cm. Secretair/vanity H115 x w 111 x d 44 cm.
