Formidable Sculpture depicting an Aries face in Vicenza Stone. A mask that can also be used as a fountain mouth thanks to the presence of the hole, it is a work of sublime quality and workmanship, conveying an uncommon power. Impressive in its precision and attention to detail (see the teeth, eyes, horns, etc.), it looks almost realistic. Part of a vast collection depicting various faces, it decorated the interior of a Veneto villa. A sculpture undoubtedly executed by one of the greatest masters of the period, there are not many of such quality. The dimensions are not excessive, proportionate and the weight is appropriate. A masterpiece more unique than rare, exclusive. Exceptional when hung on the wall. The trapezoidal shape is noteworthy; the lower base is shorter than the upper one, which gives it an even more three-dimensional feel. It is in excellent condition, undamaged.
