XIX North India / possibly Nepal
Two rare small bronze Gauri (golden goddess Gauri, representation of Parvati) votive -beauty- boxes depicting both Shiva and his wife Parvati.
Gauri bronzes were created as votives for the Gauri festival and handed down for generations.
These two are used authentic pieces, untouched with lovely patina and they come from a private French collection.
From North India to Nepal, these boxes were used and loved.
Rare two find them now in their countries of origin.
They are in good to fair condition: the smaller one has some damage to the bottom but stable.
